New Neighborhood
Groups Form
The Wild Rose Quilt Shop
in Orting is welcoming a new Neighborhood Group to it's sewing space
above the store. The first meeting of the group will be on July
29 from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon with open sewing time from noon until
5 p.m. The group leader is Michelle Howe and she is very excited
about this new group telling us, "The
WILD ROSE is a great place to meet
and the new owner is a pleasure to work with."
Please join Michele
at the Wild Rose which is located at 125 Van Scoyoc Ave. SW in Orting
on July 29 to plan the calendar for the remainder of this year and
some of next as well as determining a name for the group.
Sew Fittingly is a new
Neighborhood Group formed to meet the fitting needs of garment sewers.
While quilters have a goal of perfect points, there is another group
of sewers who have perfect fit as their objective. The Sew Fittingly
NG is designed to assist all levels of garment sewers, including those
who use commercial patterns, pattern drafting software or draft their
own patterns to achieve that elusive end result.
The group will meet on the
3rd Saturday of the month. The July 19
and August 16 meetings will be in
Covington, and then in September, The Calico Cat in Auburn is
welcoming the group to it's store at 201 Auburn Way No, Auburn.
Kay Cook, a new ASG member,
is taking on the leadership role of this group. She has been
leader of a user group for pattern drafting software but has chosen to
define the new NG's focus as achieving a great
FIT in the garments we make.
